I was really happy with all of the selections and loved seeing them going up. I just spent time on the jobsite last week, verifying placement of all these as they were being installed and it was so fun to see them going in, remembering each piece and why I chose it. They included 6 different finishes too, from satin nickel to brushed brass, even an antique pewter and an “ash gray” finish. It look awhile! We ended up with a total of 15 different knobs and pulls in the house. While I had a couple of these in mind during the Schematic Design phase of the project and presented some of them with the bathrooms and kitchen, it was time to get really specific with these and finish out the whole house. Most of these cabinet pulls come in several finishes so don’t be put off if you don’t care for the finish shown.I recently selected cabinet knobs and pulls for a whole house. That’s a great reminder! My Favorite Modern Farmhouse Cabinet Pulls & Knobsīelow is a list of my very favorite pulls and knobs. She told me to make sure I didn’t choose open-ended pulls for the bottom cabinets because of clothing getting caught on the ends. My niece and her farmer husband recently built a beautiful farmhouse. If you’re remodeling a kitchen, you’ll be surprised at the difference new pulls will make. Personally, I like to combine pulls and knobs to keep things interesting. Then, you need to decide if you want all knobs (the most inexpensive option), pulls, or a combination of the two. What’s your design style? Is it traditional? Contemporary? Modern Farmhouse? Mid-Century Modern? I’m assuming it’s a little bit modern farmhouse since you’re here (thanks for stopping by!).įunction and beauty are the two main reasons to fall in love with farmhouse cabinet pulls. I’ve even seen kitchens that have mixed metals and the designer knocked the design right out of the park. There was a time when we were told to use the same finishes throughout the house but those days are long gone. Since my cabinets will be white and my island will be navy, I think the pulls below are perfect. Yes, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone. I’ve also decided to go with brass hardware for my kitchen cabinets. The drawers will probably have even longer pulls. The smaller top cabinets will have knobs and the lower will have pulls. My kitchen cabinets will be similar to the photo below. Stacked cabinets wouldn’t be a good fit in the little kitchen. My current (older) home has 8′ ceilings throughout. I’ll keep seasonal items in the top cabinets. My regular-sized cabinets will have smaller ones stacked on top. So, I’m going with stacked kitchen cabinets. Of course, that’s just my personal preference. My current house has a gap and it’s another area to have to dust and keep clean. I don’t like having a gap between the cabinets and the ceiling. There will be crown molding between the cabinets and ceiling. My kitchen will have 10′ ceilings and the cabinets will go all the way to the ceiling. I’m a planner and I just can’t help it.Īccording to our builder, the construction of our new home should begin next week – the week of Thanksgiving. I know it’s a little early in the game but I want to have everything picked out before I need it. I’ve been searching for modern farmhouse cabinet pulls for the kitchen in my new house.
